G-L, when I first watched it I got distracted by something, which meant I didn’t watch the end. Then I showed it to my kids, saw the view in the mirror and thought ‘what the fuck did they do that for?’ Did we need a rational explanation of what the toys were? Of course not. Utterly pointless, but it’s a small piece of something that is otherwise sublime.
Is this a music video? Can’t anyone get an idea across in 10, 30 or at most 60″ anymore. Not exactly a profund idea but nice excuse for showing the product. Anything but get across the reality of the shopping experience, eh?
LOVE this, and the making of video is also genius.
I also think the twist at the end adds something really nice to the piece. Not because it needed a rational explanation, as it would definitely have worked as a flight of fancy.
But it is a really sweet thought that kids can see playing with their parents like playing with their favourite toy/friend. I think it adds even more warmth to that film.

Posted 23 Oct 2012 at 10:06 am ¶what i like about this from an adult point of view is that it’s strange enough to feel like a music promo.
fun for the kids
cool for the rants
win. win.

Posted 23 Oct 2012 at 3:07 pm ¶Why didn’t they revert back to a children’s tea party?
Posted 23 Oct 2012 at 5:05 pm ¶I wish my Mum was that robot. I hate living in the mirror world.
Jimmy, get your hand off my winky.
